The Civil Aviation Authority has been formally established as the regulator of civil aviation in the Network and today launches its official website at aviation.gov.vin, where the airspace structure, the registers of aerodromes and aircraft, and guidance on licensing and safety oversight are published.

All news- Aviation Authority Publishes Airspace Structure and Register of Aerodromes
The structure of Network airspace, including one control zone, one terminal area, four aerodrome traffic zones and seven prohibited, restricted and danger areas, takes effect at 00:00 on Monday 14 September 2026. The register of the Network's six aerodromes is published from today.
- Aviation Authority Opens Licensing and Aircraft Registration from 14 September
Applications for pilot, engineer, air traffic controller and remote pilot licences, for operator certificates and for the registration of aircraft will be accepted from Monday 14 September 2026. Licences and registrations issued by member organisations before establishment remain valid until 31 March 2027.
- Aviation Authority Sets Out Safety Oversight Programme and Publishes First Statistical Release
The Authority's 22 inspectors will complete a first cycle of 48 audits and inspections by 31 March 2027. Occurrence reporting is mandatory from 14 September 2026. The first statistical release records 6,840 aircraft movements and 38 occurrence reports during the transition period.
About the Authority
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Velocity Interoperability Network is the regulator of civil aviation in the Velocity Interoperability Network. It is responsible for the structure and safe use of Network airspace, the certification of aerodromes and operators, the licensing of aviation personnel and the aircraft register.
The Authority oversees safety through a programme of audits, inspections and occurrence reporting, and publishes statistics on the activity it regulates each quarter.

Airspace structure takes effect; licensing and registration open
The published structure of Network airspace comes into force at 00:00. Applications for licences, certificates and aircraft registration are accepted from the same day, and occurrence reporting becomes mandatory.

First oversight cycle and quarterly reporting
The first cycle of 48 audits and inspections runs from 21 September 2026 to 31 March 2027. The first full quarterly statistical report, covering the quarter ending 30 September 2026, will be announced in the Newsroom.
