Aviation Authority Publishes Airspace Structure and Register of Aerodromes

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Velocity Interoperability Network today published the structure of Network airspace. From 00:00 on Monday 14 September 2026 the airspace of the Network comprises a control zone and terminal area around Central Exchange Aerodrome, aerodrome traffic zones at Northgate, Southbank, Eastfield and Westbrook, controlled upper airspace above flight level 95, and uncontrolled airspace elsewhere. Until that time the interim arrangements agreed with member organisations during the transition period remain in force.

Seven areas in which flight is prohibited, restricted or subject to a danger warning are established at the same time. They protect the precinct of the Network Assembly, the data halls at Central Exchange, the fuel store at Westbrook Distribution Site, the courts at Meridian Court, the mast field at Northgate Relay and a training range at Eastfield Campus, and provide for temporary restrictions during events at Southbank Terminal. The Authority also published the register of aerodromes. Six aerodromes at the principal sites of the Network are entered on the register: two certified aerodromes at Central Exchange and Westbrook, three licensed aerodromes at Northgate, Southbank and Eastfield, and a registered airstrip at Meridian.
